An EOLD (also referred to as a death doula or death midwife) is a non-medical person who provides emotional and holistic support to people throughout the dying process and beyond. The doula heart is filled with compassion, ensuring each person served feels heard, empowered, and honoured. According to the End of Life Doula Association of Canada, "End of Life Doulas empower, educate and encourage people and their families to be involved in making end of life decisions. Death is a process that can span over months or even years rather than an event and doulas can help with supporting and planning. "
I share a loving, calm acceptance to end of life; bringing peace and grace to what can and could be a beautiful stage of life.
I assist families by being a companion to their loved ones. I spend precious time with them and allow you time to take care of yourself.
I provide informational, emotional and physical support, while being a good listener and bringing an alternative perspective to what is often a very sensitive, emotional and difficult time in life. Let me help you through the transition of death by providing holistic, spiritual, and practical support. Allow me to offer comfort and peace at this emotional time.
As a Certified Dementia Care Provider (CDCP), I seek ways to improve the quality of life of my client(s) I care for in consultation with them and/or with their family. I utilize creative solutions as the first line approach when managing dementia-related behaviours. I always put my client(s) first by getting to know them and discovering what makes them happy or what upsets, then working on solutions. I use holistic approaches in my care and respect themat all times.
